While I was researching and constructing this website, I was able to get a deeper understanding of all the soldiers just like Coyle A Dempsey and their immense sacrifice. Before this project, I was only able to understand the soldiers who fought as numbers and statistics. But now, my perspective shifted and I can now view each soldier as a person with families and not just a number we learn about in class. If I was able to talk to Coyle A Dempsey, I would ask him why he enlisted. I think this question would help me better understand why some soldiers enlisted and how their reason for enlisting may differ from another soldier. The most important source was ancestory.com because it gave me important information to act as the base for the rest of my research. This source gave me so much important information such as Coyle A Dempsey's rank, medals, and family. This project changed who I am grateful for, from being the whole group of soldiers who fought to each individual soldier who made tremendous sacrifices for our freedom.
