Coyle A. Dempsey was killed in action on June 21, 1944 as a Staff Sergeant. He was interred in the Normandy American Cemetery, Plot E Row 13 Grave 23. He was awarded the Purple Heart medal and the Silver Star medal.

Coyle A Dempsey was a brave young man who, after only completing 2 years of high school, enlisted for the U.S. Army. This was a huge sacrifice for an 18 year old to make. During the war, Coyle A Dempsey continued to prove his bravery and pride for his country. He fought hard and courageously so that we can be free today. Coyle A Dempsey was killed in action on June 21, 1944, but his bravery and sacrifice is everlasting.
